Fashion Show in aid of the Make a
Wish Foundation
Looking
for Stylists, Designers, Videographers, Photographers,
Video Editors, Photoshop Experts to assist with Fashion
Show
Fashion
show will be held on 1st December 2010
Spotlight is a style society
of the National University of Ireland Maynooth, we
organize events all year round, to raise funds for
charity. We are looking for students who would be
willing to give their time for our upcoming charity
fundraising event on the 1st of December 2010.
Our society raised funds for the 'Make A Wish
Foundation' through our Fashion Show event last year
(See

for photographs). The ‘Make A Wish foundation’ grants
wishes to children aged 3-18 years who are living with a
life-threatening illness. Spotlight won a national
Society Awards BICS (Board of Irish College Society
award) last year for our ‘Fashion Show’. We also won the
‘Best Event of the Year’ across the university
societies.
We are now planning for this year’s Fashion Show that
will be held on the 1st of December 2010. The proposed
venue is Killashee House Hotel & Villa Spa, and we are
anticipating an audience of approximately 420 people.
Our chosen charity will again be ‘Make A Wish
Foundation’. We are also working with ‘Make A Wish’
foundation to see if a child’s wish could be granted
during the Fashion Show.
Our proposed theme this year is ‘Diversity’ which means
that we will be showcasing a wide range of fashion
styles that will capture everybody’s interest, such as
Office wear, Dinner / evening wear, Casual / College
wear, Gothic wear, Punk rock wear, and African Attire.
We will be using our local clothing line, student
designers, and the African Attire designer from the UK
will be attending. Additionally, we will have rap
artists perform live while models strut down the runway
and have dancers from the Dream Dance Academy.
There will be a huge amount of exposure for anyone
involved, including promotional prints, online mediums,
programmes in the hotel, through the charity, through
student magazines, local and national newspapers, TV and
radio. Our estimated amount of guests is 500 people.
Organising the Fashion Show is costly and we exclusively
depend on the generosity of companies and of people
committing sponsorship funds and time to help to run the
event successfully. An integral part of any fashion show
is the contribution made by the Designers, Stylist,
Catwalk Experts, Backstage Dressers, Photographers,
Videographers, Graphic Designers (leaflets), etc. and I
was hoping that students of Limperts Academy of Design
would be willing to assist us by giving their time to
this event. The benefits will be twofold - you will be
contributing to a very good cause, and we will ensure to
create publicity for everyone that helps to make this
event happen and be a success. It will be a great
opportunity for students to get their name out there! It
would be an advantage for students who are assisting
with the show to have a business card made up before the
event with their logo. We would require the logo to
place on our sponsorship lists beforehand.
