The exhibitions shows examples of these elevated shoes from all over Europe and examines the cultural meanings and symbolism behind them as well as the craft and architecture in their make-up. `The way we wore`. This exhibition displays a historic collection of Irish clothing and jewellery from the past 250 years. Many of us think of Irish clothing as home-made aran jumpers and head scarves; however this exhibition shows that the majority of Irish people from 1760-1960 dressed in styles which competed with the fashion conscious Europeans of their time.
