Hi Everyone,

It’s good to be back! I’ve found it very interesting seeing how everyone has progressed while I’ve been gone. Some of you have nearly finished the course since I left and there are a lot of new students who I’ve yet to meet and work with. In fact it’s great to see so many new students in these “recessionary times”. Styling seems to be one of the few industries not yet affected by the worldwide financial downturn. Maybe that’s because now, more than ever clients need value for their shopping money and each item bought needs to be a perfect fit, colour and coordinator so they can build a solid wardrobe without spending a fortune. You should all be cashing in on this recession by advertising your services with a twist, for example “clean out your wardrobe without cleaning out your wallet”, or offer customization on their existing wardrobe or accessorizing for new looks. Always look out for an opportunity-and this recession really is a good one for stylists!

I’d like to say hello to our growing number of male students on image and fashion courses-at last men are signing up and this year especially there is a big increase in our male students! Watch out girls, because these guys mean business and are just as determined to make it in the fashion industry. Check out some of their excellent work below.

There have been a lot of success stories since I’ve been gone as well, we are adding to our testimonials on an ongoing basis, so if you have had a good fashion experience during or after your course with us then please let us know. It’s so satisfying for us to see our student’s names turning up in magazines and newspaper fashion supplements in Ireland and the UK, but its harder for us to keep track of the rest of the world-so please let us know what’s going on with you. Plus it gives great encouragement to other students when they see that it is possible to get fantastic jobs in the industry.
 We are also adding to our student’s websites all the time, so again if you have a website-we will put up a link for you no problem.

I’d like to say a big thank you to Pamela for running the Fashion Department so well in my absence. I know many of you spoke to her often and met her at the graduation, and she will be missed.
