For all you wannabe catwomen out there-this is a full on fantasy exhibition of cult movie costumes in all their spandexed glory. The exhibit of aprox 60 pieces includes garments from haute couture to high performance sportswear.
The theme is “how to reveal the superhero in you” and shows how clothes can transform the wearer and the perception of the wearer by the onlooker. Designer’s work includes Armani (who is endorsing the exhibition); McQueen; D & G; Versace; Gautier and includes celebrity co-chairs such as George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
The last time the MET housed a large fashion exhibit on Poiret it launched a big trend towards everything 20`s and Art Deco (due into stores this S/S) so another big fashion event such as this one will definitely influence designers and fashion brands for A/W 2008!
