Hello everyone,
As summer approaches the general tone for interiors is botanical and centres around gardens. I am not to fond of the overused phrase ‘bringing the outside in’, but this is what will lead us into autumn and winter 2008. For the summer coordination of furnishings between the garden and the home are common, with designer brands expanding their product ranges to suit outdoor living.
Pattern Fauna and flora patterned fabrics - mix and match to your heart’s content.
Citrus The main summery combinations of citrus fruits used in soft layers, accents transparent, whitened, dulled or vivid hues.
Spice Eastern influences combining layers of natural textiles and furnishings that border on Classical influences.
Skyline Black, plumb black, midnight blue hues with flashes of blanched neon, silver, opalescent sheen as street lights.
Focus on form Pale colours, cool pastels, white washing: gray, brown, green, dusky pink – all botanical hues. Allowing texture, shape and form to be the prominent feature.
If you know of any events, exhibitions, resources or museums in your corner of the globe which you would like to see in this or the next newsletter please contact me in the Dublin office.
