New Designers is the foremost event in graduate design and, fulfilling its annual promise, New Designers 2008 marks the emergence of the year’s brightest talents presenting their unique and fascinating degree work. The show is exciting, surprising, and vibrant – a hotbed of smart thinking and original ideas brought together in the dynamic environment of the Business Design Centre. Not only does New Designers launch the careers of some 4000 newly qualified designers, but it also unveils the design stars of the future. In the two part exhibition there is jewellery, textiles, fashion accessories, applied arts, furniture, product design, architecture and graphics, and that is just the starting point. Part 1 will be opened by Cath Kidston, and Part 2 by Matthew Hilton. Fresh from the UK’s design leading courses, exhibitors are keen to attract public and professional attention, and work is available to commission and to buy.
Student concessions rate of £10 on the door with student card.

The Pavilion will be a source of inspiration for visitors, as it will feature all new exhibitors most of whom will be showing completely new ranges. 

Among the new exhibitors in the Pavilion is 3D UK showing its range of upholstery from Thailand, this will be their UK launch.  Mike Conroy said, “We chose Manchester as our launch as it attracts quality retailers with whom we can do business”.

They will be joined by another newcomer to the Show S & C Group - Sales Director David Goodall said  “The Pavilion is a unique location at the entrance to the main exhibition and is especially suitable as a showcase for our new Contemporary Lounge & Dining Collections.  We chose to exhibit at Manchester because it attracts a high number of quality independent retailers”.

Following its successful conference, exhibition and publication 'Thinking Inside the Box' held at Glasgow's Lighthouse in March 2007, the IFS Interiors Forum Scotland invites the international interior design and interior architecture community to register interest in participating in the 2nd IFS International Conference, 'Interior Tools Interior Tactics', to be held in Edinburgh on the 21st and 22nd of August 2008. The Interiors Forum Scotland is a unique collaborative research group established in 2005, representing all the honours degree Interior Design/Interior Architecture programmes in Scotland.
