WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU - November
to December 2008

Siobhan Murphy
Interior Design
Programme Leader
Meet the team

Hello Everyone,

November to December 2008

Hello All and welcome to the November/December student support online. Apologies for the delay which is due to the fact that I only took up the post at the beginning of November and needed the time to get the articles together.

Let me begin by introducing myself, my name is Siobhán Murphy and I am the new Programme Leader of Interior Design. I am here to offer support in any way I can, to all of you students out there, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you may have.

I am really looking forward  to getting to know you all and your styles! Design is exciting in the sense that it is continuously changing and evolving therefore together and with the aid of the student support site we will try to
keep on top of design ideas, trends, exhibitions, trade shows and we may even try our hands at forecasting up and coming styles!!

Graduation is always one of the main events in October for Limperts Academy of Design and their students, although I was not yet part of Limperts at that time I am led to believe that all parties had a great day and I would like to take
this opportunity to congratulate everyone on their successful completion of all courses....a big pat on the back to all!!

For any new students or prospective ones don't be afraid to get involved in discussions on the on-line bulletin board, its a great way to pick other peoples brains, generate new ideas and brainstorm.

Without going into too much detail I would like to address the possible disappointment recent graduates may be experiencing and the concern current students may be experiencing due to the slow down in the design industry.
Design is one of the most trying Industries to be successful in, it is fragile in the sense that it is so vulnerable to social and political changes. It is not consistent, never has been and that's the reason why you must love design in order to take the good with the bad. It is so difficult to do sometimes however we must keep our heads down and keep on trucking. I truly believe if you work hard in design and ensure that your standards are the best they can be then at the end of the day this will pay off, we must be patient!! You reap what you sow so lets get to work!!

All the best

Siobhan Murphy
