Tara Kenny

Tara Kenny, B.A. In. Des. In.Int Arc

Experience:

Tara has a BA in Design in Interior Architecture her qualifications, enthusiasm and vast design experience have been the combination to her successful design path. Her experience within the Domestic and Commercial Design Industry extends over ten years. She was an Associate Interior Designer with an RIAI Dublin based Architectural Consultancy, successive to this she practiced as an Senior Interior Architect with a firm specialising in designs of Hotels, Bars and Restaurants on an International basis. In more recent times Tara developed her own freelance design portfolio where she was the principal designer on site developments from inception through to completion; these projects covered Conservation / Refurbishment of Protected Structures, turnkey new build developments for Main Contractors, and domestic new build for private clients.
 
Tara is currently the Programme Leader for Interior Design with Limperts Academy of Design.

Sarah Moran

Sarah Moran H.Dip.In.Des

Experience:

Sarah has in excess of 10 years experience within the design industry. Having commenced her career as an Architectural Technician, while studying for her HND in Interior Design, once qualified Sarah spear-headed the development of the interior design department within a successful architectural and project management firm. While working with this multidisciplinary firm, Sarah won design contracts ranging from one-off house renovations & large scale residential developments to bespoke executive office hospitality spaces & nationwide roll-outs for a leading banking chain. Sarah also had involvement within the architectural arm of this firm working on multi-million euro commercial developments including the award winning Dundrum Town Centre.
 
In her most recent position Sarah worked as the Design Team Leader for a progressive boutique design studio. Here Sarah had clients across the Retail and Hospitality Sectors. Interior Design projects included restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, shops and bars and included a 2 time short-listing for designs under the best International Design category of the UK Retail Interior Design Awards.
 
Sarah has been involved with Limperts Academy of Design for many years and currently tutors the Interior Design Diploma course.

Siobhan Murphy

Siobhan Murphy, H.Dip Ind.Design, BDes Hons, HND Int. Arch, MIDI

Experience:

Siobhán has a total of seven years work experience within the Commercial Design Industry from working with Shop Fitting Specialists to Bar Fit-Out Specialists to Sustainable Architectural Practices and more recently she has worked with a Design and Architecture Consultancy as a Senior Interior Architect.

Siobhan studied the HND Interior Design and Architecture home study course with Limperts Academy of Design and found this to be an excellent springboard into the Commercial Design Industry thus allowing her take on projects on Hotels, Pubs, Restaurants, Leisure Centres, Health Spas and Offices. One of her largest projects being the Hunting Lodge on the grounds of Castle Leslie, Glaslough, Co. Monaghan.

In addition to her experience and educational background in Interior Design, Siobhán is also a fully qualified Industrial Designer which she finds to be a great asset in terms of broadening her skills as an Interior Designer. “Often as Interior Designers we are called upon to design furniture, lighting, window dressings etc. and it is at this point that my Industrial Design experience kicks in”

Ben Poyntz, H.Dip.In.Des 

Experience:

Ben’s specialises is in contemporary design. He has worked in the industry for over 10 years, with extensive experience in providing a complete interior design service to high end residential projects, new builds, complete renovations and modern apartments. Ben has worked extensively on full interior design commissions, taking the project through from architectural planning and detailing to sourcing artwork and accessories. He has also a number of years of experience working in theatrical set design and build.

To be successful in this highly competitive field, Ben has an extensive and up to date knowledge of building materials, construction methods and technologies. Ben is passionate about design and is committed to inspiring students and working with them to build the skills they need to become successful, professional designers.
Ben is currently a Tutor for home study and night class.

Nichola Kinch

Nichola Kinch N.D.D, B.Des, ARI Dip

Experience:
Nichola has 14 years experience in the fashion industry and is a qualified fashion designer. She has worked as a designer and buyer in the areas of womenswear, menswear, jeanswear and childrenswear, for many well known designer and high street brands in Ireland and the UK.

In her most recent design role she climbed to Head of Design for a fashion house with numerous brands where she directed a whole team of designers in directional range planning and trend forecasting for three separate womenswear collections.

She has styled photoshoots and fashion shows, predicted trends and travelled all over the world as a buyer. She also has experience in merchandising, display, fashion illustration, garment construction and styling.
Nichola has been the Image and Fashion Programme Leader at Limperts Academy for over 4 years; she is currently on leave.

Melanie Kinmonth-Cronin

Melanie Kinmonth-Cronin, H. Dip. Fashion

Experience:
Melanie completed her fashion design studies in the Grafton Academy of Dress Design in Dublin. She graduated in 2005 and spent the past 4 years working in a clothing design and manufacturers based in Ireland. She worked first as Pattern Maker, then Designer, for High Street stores such as Topshop, Oasis, Awear, ASOS and Wallis. Part of the job was to interpret seasonal trends, create mood boards and colour palettes for buyers and travel to source new fabrics and trims. She spent a lot of time at Vintage fairs, sourcing Vintage garments and trims that could be updated to suit modern trends.

She worked in fashion retail while in college, as a Sales Advisor and also Visual Merchandiser. She has styled fashion shows and made garments for private clients. For the past 4 years, she has also been a Third Level Fashion lecturer in areas such as Pattern Drafting and Garment Assembly. Melanie is currently the acting Programme Leader for all the Image and Fashion course.

Sinead Doyle, B.Des, MA

Sinead Doyle, B.Des, MA 

Experience:
Over the last five years Sinead has worked in Dublin, London and Venice in areas a varied as childrenswear (The Little Nut Tree) and couture (Atelier Nicolao) and has won several fashion design awards.In August 2008 she launched her own label Sinéad Doyle Design, a luxury women’s daywear label, at Motorola Dublin Fashion Week and the label is currently stocked nationwide. She is currently an image and fashion styling tutor at Limperts Academy of Design.

Victoria Cumming

Victoria Cumming, B.Des (Hons) 

Experience:
Victoria Cumming is a freelance stylist, based in London. She has worked on many diverse projects within the creative industry; including editorial and commercial fashion shoots, music promos and television. Her commercial clients have included Microsoft, Sony, Polydor Records and Sony Music, Coco de Mer and MTV. Her editorial work has included contributions to magazines such as Vogue Pelle, Thirt3 Fou4 and Flux. Victoria has worked with numerous artists in the music industry including The Futureheads, The Maccabees and Pink Floyd.

LANDSCAPE AND GARDEN DESIGN TUTORS
Deirdre Prince

Deirdre Prince MLA Dip Arch Tech 

Experience:
Deirdre has worked in the landscape and architecture industry for over 20 years and has worked on a variety of landscape projects, from work on the landscaping masterplan in the K Club, Straffan, Co. Kildare to landscape masterplanning of large scale residential and commercial development schemes. She has been involved in the landscape and visual analysis of Environmental Impact Assessments of these projects, and landscape conservation reports. She has also designed the landscaping on a number of large scale residential developments.

In previous years, she has worked on the Sean O’Casey Bridge, Dublin, Dundalk Courthouse, Co. Louth, Fingal County Hall Civic Offices in Swords and the Croke Park Stadium Re-Development.

She has her own landscape and garden design practice and has been involved in many large scale commercial projects and domestic residential gardens from sketch design to completion on site.
