Graduate of the Year 2006

On October 26 th 2006 Limperts Academy of Design in association with the Ideal Homes Exhibition launched the first ever graduate of the year competition. This was open to any student who had graduated from a Limperts Academy of Design course since January 2006.

The top three entries, one of which was awarded the title of Graduate of the year 2006, were each given their own room set at the Ideal Homes Exhibition. Running over 12 years, this is officially Irelands biggest, best attended and most influential home and interiors show. With an audience of over 40,000 people, an estimated expenditure of €60m was recorded at the 2006 show. This was a fantastic opportunity for emerging designers to gain free publicity, meet potential clients and possibly win the title of Limperts Academy of Design Graduate of the year 2006.

This year’s Ideal Homes Exhibition was bigger and better than ever and the Designers sets were visited by thousands of visitors looking for ideas and inspiration.

The Event
Eight years on from the inaugural event, the Our House Show is now established as one of the foremost events in the country for homeowners. This year, the main feature of the exhibition is Inspiration Boulevard, which is a series of seven room sets that will be designed to attract visitors to the show and inspire them with practical tips, advice and demonstrations. IKEA, Arnotts, Clery’s, Habitat, M&S, House of Fraser and Dunnes Stores have each committed to sponsor a room set, and the broad spectrum of products they have available will enable visitors to clearly see how high quality interior design results can be achieved within a wide range of budgets. These are some of the most reputable companies in their industries and this will be the first time in interiors event history that they will all be brought together under the same roof. The top names in gardening – Arboretum, Gardenworks, O’Meara’s, Atlantic and Roadstone have also committed, and together Inspiration Boulevard will be transformed into the most revolutionary feature ever to be seen at an event in Ireland. Each visitor to the show will be offered a free 15 minute consultation with one of the competition finalists, who will be permitted to distribute their business cards and other promotional media. To ensure the success of the Our House Show, the event organisers have scheduled one of the largest media campaigns in Ireland for any event of this nature. The event will be publicised in a number of ways, including national press, TV and live radio broadcasts from the venue. This is a wonderful opportunity for emerging designers to gain free publicity, meet potential clients and possibly win the title of Interior Designer of the Year 2006

The Competition
Carefully consider today’s Irish homeowners and design the room that you believe reflects their ideals in lifestyle and comfort. Aesthetics is obviously important, but your design ideas should demonstrate practicality and creativity, with a balance between the two..

Limperts Academy of Design in association with the Roadstone Our House Show are launching their first annual Interior Designer of the Year competition, the finals of which will be held at the Our House Show, National Events Centre, Punchestown, Co. Kildare from Friday 7th – Sunday 9th April inclusive. Full details of the competition are detailed below, and seven lucky finalists will be invited to demonstrate their interior design skill and ability at the exhibition where visitors come to be informed, entertained and ultimately inspired about what they can achieve in their own homes and gardens.

Limperts Academy of Design is the largest trainer of professional interior designers in Ireland, and their courses are offered to students through third level colleges all over the country and directly by home study. Limperts Academy have also enrolled students from over 20 countries on their home study programmes, helping them to gain the skills and confidence to pursue a new career in design without having to give up their full-time jobs and family commitments. Limperts Academy of Design is an Irish organisation, yet the high standards of work achieved by their graduates are currently setting the standards worldwide. With a new office recently opened in London and with progress already under way for a base in the USA, Limperts Academy of Design is the next in a long line of Irish success stories in the creative industries of art and design. Undoubtedly, the team at Limperts Academy of Design
know what it takes to succeed in the interior design industry, and they are proud to be associated with this event that will be a showcase for emerging designers from all over Ireland.
