I'm a Canadian fashion stylist/make-up artist working in Canada. I'm a 2008 graduate from the Limperts academy of design, I studied the Image and fashion styling diploma program.

"Every lesson gave me something! "
(Zana Legemzova)

My name is Zana Legemzova, I am 26 years old and I come from Slovakia.

In 2005 I decided to move to London. I have always been interested in the fashion industry and I have had the feeling that this is a dynamic, expanding and unique area that I would like to advance my career in.

The only problem was where and how to start as I did not have any previous experience.

I came across Limperts Academy of Design website and from the very beginning I knew I wanted to do the Diploma Course in Image and Fashion Styling with them.

I am very happy I made this decision. The course gave me good knowledge and background about the industry. I enjoyed the course exceedingly. It was hard work, but great fun at the same time.

Since receiving my diploma I have been involved in styling and production of the online fashion magazine called MC Mag – it is a great fashion publication with style and taste dedicated to all fashion aficionados. I genuinely enjoy working in an fashion environment.

I am really grateful to Limperts Academy of Design for helping me on my way to the fashion world. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who is serious about becoming a stylist.

How did you get the job?
“Word of mouth really. I knew someone who knew someone in the industry, we met and chatted, and it went from there. ”

What does your job involve?
MC Mag is an online fashion magazine. I assist the fashion editor in styling the photo shoot and I am involved in the production. That means I find and buy the clothes, accessories, props, everything we need to create the look we want. It involves a lot of hard work and running around, but I really enjoy it.

Any favourite pieces of work?
I styled the B is for Beauty shoot  called “Madame de Luxe” in the most recent edition of the magazine, which is called Newton, so that would be my favourite I think.

Do you have any tips to students wanting to get into the industry?
Get ready for the stress. It’s a fast pace job! Make as many contacts as you can, and work them. Talk to people in the industry, photographers as well as editors. Be prepared to volunteer at first, to get the experience you need. Once I started working on MC Mag, more work then followed. For example, my current fashion editor at the magazine asked me to work with him on the December issue of the Pride magazine, and so it goes on, hopefully!

"The skills I learnt helped me to secure my place
in the industry and I think anyone can do it!"

(Luciana Mazza)

My name is Luciana Mazza and I am a freelance Fashion Stylist working in TV. I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and I spent part of my childhood living in Belgium where I worked in fashion retailing for several years. Here in the UK, I realised the fashion industry is quite complex and segmented into different areas. I thought about what I wanted to do and in 2005 I decided to study with two leading fashion schools: Central Saint Martins College and Limperts Academy of Design. The variety of academic qualifications I achieved allowed me to take my career in the direction I wanted and gain professional credibility. This experience significantly improved my career’s perspectives and changed my life. Fashion Styling is a very specific area and it is still a relatively new subject with regards to fashion training. The skills I learnt helped me to secure my place in the industry and I think anyone can do it!

"Limperts Academy of Design helped me towads that goal by giving me the opportunity to learn and improve skills on a large spectrum of subjects!"
(Pascal Valentino Borreli)

After ten years of working in the travel industry I was looking for a new challenge allowing me to combine my past professional experience and my fondness for fashion and style.

Limperts Academy of Design helped me towads that goal by giving me the opportunity to learn and improve skills on a large spectrum of subjects, all of them covering the various aspects of styling. The course is thorough and very interesting. The tutor really supports you with useful advice and comments on the different assignments and encourages you to give your best, all the while being very objective on the work done.

I completed a course in Image and Fashion Styling enjoying all of it and I am now in the process of setting up my own company of Personal Concierge Services with a particular specialization in personal shopping and image consultancy. I feel more confident now to take up this challenge thanks to the Limperts Academy of Design and their course that introduced me into the fantastic work of styling.

Wendy Casey

"I would never have believed it possible to
change careers as I did at the age of 45 !"

(Wendy Casey)

I was a Vice President of a large American bank, managing the international personal banking division in Luxembourg. I was responsible for a team of 45 staff - which included multi-national teams of client relationship managers, operations staff, a treasury team and Compliance staff. Together with the Managing Director, I was legally responsible for the entire bank in Luxembourg which consisted of three separate divisions totalling more than 200 staff. I now write a monthly column on image and fashion for the local English news magazine, read by the international community in Luxembourg. I have been given a free reign to write on any subject of my choice and have free use of the magazine’s photographer. It has proved to be excellent advertising for me, since my name, business and email address is listed at the foot of each article. I have also established myself as an Image and Fashion Consultant and deal with private, individual clients and with companies. The work is really exciting and highly varied - for example, I have just been approached by a large company to write and present a course on business dress code. They market to a variety of countries and wish to ensure that their sales staff dress accordingly. I would never have believed it possible to change careers as I did at the age of 45 !

"It has given me the confidence to seize
every opportunity that comes before me!"

(Ann Slattery)

My name is Ann Slattery, I am 45 years of age and since I was 14/15 years old I have had a great interest in fashion and dressmaking. With my mum I spent approx 15 years making wedding dresses and doing alterations on clothes for local boutiques. In 2007 I felt I needed to expand what I was doing but knew I needed a 'qualification on paper'. After exhausting nearly every website looking for a fashion course I happened upon Limperts and saw that they did evening classes in the College of Commerce in Cork. After speaking with someone in the Limperts office I applied for the course in the full knowledge that it was going to be an intensive course. What a life changing course it was!.

It has given me the confidence to seize every opportunity that comes before me.

I started the course as a very nervous student but with a tutor who was fantastic at confidence building I have to say I blossomed as the months went by. I learned so much not just about fashion but also colour, body analysis, Vintage fashions, make-up, hair etc,. It was such a learning curve for everyone in the class some of whom may have thought initially that it was just fashion, fashion, and fashion! During the Diploma course I was approached by a stylist to make some jackets for Colette Fitzpatrick of TV3 news to wear reading the news. On the 9th of September this year I spent 4 days as a dresser for Trinny and Susannah at their 'Style in the City' event. I initially assisted with the fittings and selection of the outfits. I then worked closely with the production team on rehearsals and ultimately dressed a model an average of 8 times in 25 minutes during the event. Over the course of 4 days we hosted 15 shows. I withstood the pressure and thrived on the atmosphere. I have no doubt that the Diploma on my CV helped enormously to get this work. I have since applied for work on 'The Clothes Show' live in Birmingham but unfortunately I was too late but they said they would keep my CV on file for next year as they were impressed with my qualifications. My final project gained me a Distinction which I was thrilled with.

I feel now that the world is my oyster and it is all thanks to Limperts. I would highly recommend this course, its hard work but very well worth it.

" I thoroughly recommend to anyone who is thinking
about doing a course to do it!"

(Simone Hathaway)

Before I took the course I was a stay at home full time mother, prior work history has always been office based admin or reception jobs. I have always been interested in fashion, styles and trends and friends suggested I should do course. So I enrolled on the Image Consultancy course with Limperts Academy and passed last summer with a merit. I now work as a Personal Shopper in a large store on Oxford Street in London. It has been extremely rewarding and satisfying, my job involves a quick assessment of an individual’s needs and without this course I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do it. I meet many TV stylists such as Trinny and Susannah and the team from, How to Look Good Naked as well as lots of magazine stylists. I thoroughly recommend to anyone who is thinking about doing a course to do it – you have nothing to loose and everything to gain – a new future…

"I have a whole new lease of life and a career which is
not only rewarding and interesting but allows me to
make a difference to people's lives!"

(Mary Holmes)

"I have always wanted to run my own business and with over 14 years of experience in business and marketing knew that I could do a good job. I have always been interested in fashion and shopping and friends have always come to me for style advice. So when I found out about Limpert's certificate in image consulting I found the perfect career for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and found it hugely beneficial in developing the tools to take me to a professional level. The nature of the course in being assignment lead meant I could gradually build up a client base while I was learning the trade. Now I have set up Ruby Seven my image consulting business and am about to leave my full-time job in telecoms to focus on being a professional image consultant. I have a whole new lease of life and a career which is not only rewarding and interesting but allows me to make a difference to people's lives."

"I hope to have a wonderful styling career ahead thanks to Limperts Academy. It all starts from here on. My dream is finally coming true!"
(Vicki Sheridan )

I decided to do the Image & Fashion Styling Diploma with Limperts Academy as it was the only one that offered this type of course on a correspondence basis. I had reservations about a correspondence course but that soon went the moment I started my first assignment. From day one the tutors are there to support you. After only a few months on the course I gained the confidence to start looking for work experience within the industry. I hounded people in different areas of styling from Editorial to freelance stylists. To my amazement I started to get experience with some top people one being Graham Cruz a top stylist in Dublin. It was hard work but so fantastic as I got such an insight into differnt areas from photoshoots to fashion shows. One show I assisted Graham Cruz with had 120 models so was very hectic, but fantastic. I am now finished the course and feel that I'm at the start of a new journey in my life. I'm now looking to get more experience withing the styling industry all this and I'm still working full time in a completely different industry. That's the wonderful thing about his course, you can make the change over gradually even if you are in a differnt industry alltogether! I hope to have a wonderful styling career ahead thanks to Limperts Academy. It all starts from here on. My dream is finally coming true.

"The Limpert’s certificate in image consulting helped me to achieve the right qualifications to start my career."
(Ina Wagner)

"I literally grew up in my parent’s designer fashion boutique in Germany, daily watching them dressing and styling people. After living almost 3 years in Ireland it became clear to me that I wanted to set up my own business in the fashion styling industry. The Limpert’s certificate in image consulting helped me to achieve the right qualifications to start my career. I have now successfully set up my business Style-fix Image Consultant and offer a wide range of personal styling and shopping services to my clients. Assisting other fashion stylist I have also gained insight behind the scenes at various fashion shows, Style in the City and Off the Rails Live. I now style regular fashion shoots at the L.A. Make-Up Academy in Dublin and will represent Style-Fix at TV 3’s Exposé Live event in the RDS in May 09. I truly found my dream career!"
